Citi Singapore CEO Named Head of Consumer Banking

Citi has just announced the appointment of
Jonathan Larsen as the new head of Asia-Pacific consumer banking and global cards.
Mr Larsen, who was previously the country head and country officer for Singapore and chief executive officer of Citibank Singapore, will be tasked to look after all consumer segments in the region. He will be reporting directly to the company's joint Asia-Pacific CEOs Shirish Apte and Stephen Bird.
"Our appointment of Jonathan is to further strengthen our Consumer business and reflects the priority we place on fully participating in the growth of the Asian Consumer marketplace," said Mr Bird in a statement. "We regard this a probably the best growth opportunity in the world today."
Citibank presently has 32 million customer accounts and 15 million card accounts in the region. It services more than half a million of the Asia-Pacific's wealthiest clients through its
Citigold banking service.
Mr Larsen's successor in Singapore will be announced soon.
